For the second year in a row, the WSOP Circuit is going global with stops in 16 different international locations. Now players around the world get a chance to experience the WSOP for themselves. In October, the tour has stops in both Brazil and the Czech Republic, and our players can get there via the many satellites running on the site.

Although there aren't any gold bracelets on the table, you can bet that the competition will be fierce for the coveted WSOP gold rings.

WSOP Circuit Brazil Events

The WSOP Circuit Brazil will take place over eight days at the Transamerica Expo Center, and 888poker will be the exclusive provider of online satellites. Among the 14 gold ring events are the opening R$580 Brazilian Storm, R$8,000 High Roller, and our favourite Event #16: R$888 “Crazy Eights,” which will take place at 7:00 p.m. local time on Sunday, October 30.

That event comes off the heels of the inaugural “Crazy Eights” event held at the 2016 WSOP. That tournament attracted 6,761 entries and saw family man and small business owner Hung Le emerge victorious to capture an $888,888 first-place prize and a gold bracelet. Brazil will be the first time the event is offered on the International Circuit.

Of course, the top-billed event is the four-day R$3,950 ($1,300 USD) Main Event, which will feature three starting flights from October 28-30th. That event, which will conclude on November 2, will feature a robust $1,000,000 guaranteed prize pool!

We’re proud to see poker thriving in Brazil, and fans have a great chance of seeing several of our ambassadors at the upcoming WSOP Circuit event. After all, Bruno Politano, Nicolau Villa-Lobos, and Bruno Kawauti all hail from that country, as does our first-ever celebrity ambassador in Brazilian football legend Denílson.

The Brazilian Love for Poker

“We are delighted to welcome the WSOP Circuit for the first time in our country, and in all of South America,” said Beto Lima, official representative of the WSOP Circuit in Brazil and CEO of Blue Box. “Poker is growing up step by step in Brazil, but at an incredible speed. We know that winning the WSOP is undoubtedly the greatest achievement in a poker athlete career from anywhere in the world. We are working hard to bring the best not only for Brazilians but to the world of poker, starting with the location, organisation and a full schedule of good tournaments.”

WSOP Director Gregory Chochon echoed those sentiments: “The WSOP Circuit continues to expand in the world, and we are excited to reach South American for the first time with this exciting event in Brazil. We are optimistic the event will be well supported, and we can continue to host bigger and better events each year.”
